Privacy Policy

ScribeSE is designed around local-first transcription. This page summarizes what is stored and when data may leave your device.

Last updated: May 16, 2026

Local-first storage

In local mode, your media files, transcripts, settings, and AI API keys are stored in your browser. They are not uploaded to ScribeSE servers for transcription.

Optional cloud features

If you sign in and choose cloud mode, ScribeSE stores the data needed to sync your workspace across devices.

  • Account data: your account profile, authentication records, and subscription status may be stored.
  • Workspace data: video metadata, tags, transcript text and segments, generated summaries, chat sessions and messages, and search/index data needed for chat may be stored.

AI providers

When you connect an external AI provider, requests are sent to that provider under its own terms. You control which provider and API key you use.
